Just popped in for a moment to celebrate Fiber Friday. I was struck by an overwhelming urge to spin last night after far too long of a hiatus from my wheel. I got quite a lot spun despite my injured hand, too.
This is my first real “art yarn” and it’s the first time I’ve incorporated fabrics. It’s also the first time I’ve spun with some of these fibers. Included are alpaca, tussah silk, cashmere, polyester batting, soy silk, regular old wool – just about everything. There’s even a little piece that has some camel down in it.
I adore it and can’t wait to finish up the bobbin so I can ply it with something. I’m considering plying it with some tea-stained lace but we’ll see.
